Tina – in happiness

Greetings from Tina!

The first 2 weeks we had a small understanding problem when I said „come here“ she sat down, etc. After 14 days everything went quite well.

Nevertheless, she is and remains a sleeping pill. In the morning she is always sooooo tired and otherwise she is also very quiet. Only if she has other dogs to play with then she will become active and she also loves her ball and stuffed animals. Even with our cats she get along well.

She has settled in very well. She loves to be in our allotment and the forest is in the near. And even at home she loves the walks. We go out every day at the lake with her dog buddies.

Happy End Tetra now Tita

Hi there,

It´s me – Tetra – but now my name is Tita.

This is called probably the American dream, because I have hit the jackpot. I have now a big sister, her name is Mia and she also comes from Cyprus two years ago. We live in a beautiful house with a huge garden and I help my owners in the garden. In the vegetable patch I dig everything.

We also have to go to work, that’s great. We drive all together. All love me there, and I get always a treat.

I’m doing really well, I am in happiness.

Willow – all are really happy with her

Hi everybody,

here is a message from Willow, who flew on 10th April 2014 to Hamburg, where she was so eagerly awaited by us. Us, these are: mother, father, child, grandma and grandpa. And it seems as if we had made a stroke of luck! Willow anyway, because really all conditions for a happy dog’s life are in place and we loved her from the first moment.

The chemistry was immediate. At home She loved to lie on the couch from the first moment.

She is completely healthy, cheerful and jolly and pleased with her mates. Only me, her owner, she can never let me out of her sight. We still need to train short separations. There are probably a few fears. In the dog school she learns easily and is happy about any task.

We hope that she will have a happy dog’s life on our side.

Byron – lucky boy

Hello everybody,

I am wring to say that I hope you had a Happy Christmas, and to let you know how I am getting on in my new home.

I like it here very much, although it is usually cold, and somebody pours alot of water down from the sky quite often – I think that they call it rain.  I don’t mind though because I have a nice new raincoat that keeps me warm and dry when I go out for long walks with my new friends Alfie and Larni.

My friends look after me and let me share everything with them – even their nice warm beds!  They have shown me how to walk nicely on a lead, although I found it very strange at first, but Uncle Michael and Auntie Val tell me that I am getting quite good at it now.  We have lots of cuddles, especially in the chair at night, and there is nothing quite like nice, warm cuddles!

On arrival at the airport there was a welcome meat sausage and many cuddles, that was great.

I´m fell in love with my foster family, already after a very short time. All are incredibly dear to me.

My foster parents are very docile, they know exactly where I would like to be petted.

As soon as the family picked her up from the shelter, she found her place in between the two boys in the back of the car. She felt at home from the first second she arrived at their house.

Watching her in her new home, you can see how safe and relaxed she feels and how much she loves her new family.

Narnia´s happy end story
Hello everyone, it’s me, Narnia.

I have been with my two mistresses in Hude/Germany since 28 February 2014.

I was allowed to keep my beautiful name, even though at first I didn’t understand that it was my name! My mums tell me every day that I am a great dog, I have already learned quite a lot and never have to go anywhere else again! I slowly came to understand this and I am so happy because I have my family (a female and 2 males) who I have grown to love so much.

I have been house trained from the beginning. I don’t really like to go out in the dark – that’s too scary for me. One of my two mistress asks me every night if I want to go out – but no thank you, I will just go to my basket.

Stan – is now called Stanley

Stan – now Stanley – has arrived in Germany.

The welcome at the airport was positive. Our 12 year old female dog accepted Stanley. After the trip to Cuxhaven the house and the garden were immediately viewed.

The first night was calm and relaxed. As a matter of course Stanley integrated into the family and into the daily routine, as he had always been here. The first walk was also relaxed.

He like cuddles and animated for petting, but he also calls his time for plays, during which he is hard to stop. If he has finished, he lays down to rest and relaxed.

Freeway – is now called Marley

Freeway is now called Marley, like the dog in the movie ” Marley and Me”. Now after ten days he now is with us we must note this name fits him perfectly.

The ride home from the airport went smoothly. He immediately jumped into the car, lay down and dozed the whole trip.

At home some family members were waiting eagerly for their new family member. Everything was ready, we went a little walk and then he was allowed to explore his new home and meet his family.

He got something to eat and then he has a period of calm and we wanted to sleep. But Marley was terribly excited, he jumped and ran through the beds back and forth. Finally he lay down on the tiles and not in his dog basket and the rest of the night he was quiet.

Banoffi – is happy in her new home

The story of Banoffi is that she was found running scared along a road up in Fasoulla Village. She was seen a few times with her mother and they seemed to be living in a shed about 200 meters up the road. She was picked up and went back to the shed to find her mother dead in the shed – looked like poisoning. At that point the finders took her in hoping the cats would accept a new puppy – but sadly not.

Banoffi has a very loving nature and only makes a squeak if she is left alone – she loves company. She has also showed no aggression towards the cats – she is desperate to be friends with them. In a Pet shop in Episkopi she met another puppy and loved playing with him.

Uschi and Marie – have found together a forever home

Uschi and Marie have found together a home in Germany.

First the family has fallen in love with Uschi (formerly Ursula) and then they have adopted Marie 3 weeks ago.

They say that it´s very interesting how different the dogs are.

Uschi was on the first night very quiet, Marie went right over the table and benches and is a real whirlwind. If the two don´t sleep they actually play most of the time with each other.

There are nothing more exciting than watching dogs, just when they form a new pack and treat each other!

Poppy – she hit the jackpot

Poppy has found her forver home. She arrived this morning in England.

She hit the jackpot with a wonderful family. Two children, a german pointer and a cat. We were so worried Poppy will be completely scared and hide in a corner somewhere. She did fantastic.

By now she is sleeping on the sofa, and sniffing around the English country side. Lucky little girl. I wish all dogs from here could have the same fortune.

At the airport, she was the calmest one. All the other dogs were crying and howling, she just sat in her crate and then finally laid down and just relaxed. It was amazing to see.

Two who have made it – Paddy and Oliver are in happiness

Paddy was found before the gates of the PAWS shelter. He was simply tied there, with a garbage and a piece of bread. He was hurt, so he was immediately taken to the vet.

He limped, had a bump on his head and his eye was injured. A X-ray image shows that somebody had shot him in the body. He had several pellets in the body and also behind his eye. Also his front leg was broken by a bullet.

Oliver was rescued from a municipality pound. His brother died there. Oliver was lucky that one of our foster homes could take him home. He had recovered there very well from the strains.

Milo – such a nice little dog

3 months ago Milo is in our family and we love him so much.  He is very clever and he does funny things all day long.

The pet that you give him to Germany is his favourite toy (we call it “Lumpi”). Milo is very careful with Lumpi  and he always gives him special places, for example on the sofa or in our shoes. Sometimes he hides it under a cover. He loves his Lumpi very much.

Every Saturday Milo goes to a school for dogs, that`s very exciting and funny for him. He likes to learn new things and he loves to play with other dogs.   He also loves it, when we throw balls and he can catch them. Milo might have small legs, but can run as fast as a graydog .

Pippin – really happy

On a chilly January day we came across this lovely young boy sitting on a corner in our village, looking sad and lonely. He didn’t look undernourished and his skin was in a reasonable condition so we thought he was probably a local dog we hadn’t come across before and that he would take himself off home later in the day.

The next day, there he was again, and the day after that, and the day after that. Talking to some other locals we discovered that he was on that corner all day long, just disappearing at night. Several people were giving him food and water, but no-one could really get close to him.

After a few days he would wag his tail every time we came by, he started to follow us a little up the road and although a little wary of our two dogs, he was reasonably comfortable as long as they didn’t come too close.

Jasper – happy with his new family

One April evening this beautiful, gentle little boy turned up at our front gate. Whether he heard the dogs and was looking for company, or it was just luck, who knows.

He was looking rather skinny and coughing a bit, but otherwise looked in a reasonable condition and was not shy of people or other dogs.  What to do with him at 11pm on a Saturday night was the question.  We couldn’t turn our backs on him.  I made a phone call and managed to secure a place for him the following week, and a neighbour was able to take him in until Monday.  She fell in love with him, as did her own little dog, but the circumstances were not right for her to keep him sadly.

Jasper settled very quickly in my neighbour’s house and he was very well behaved.  We felt he had possibly come from a proper home, but had no idea how he turned up on our road.

Bobbi – in happiness

Bobbi is a very lucky girl because a very kind lady from the Czech Republic fell in love with her and couldn’t live without her!

Now she is doing really, really well despite a stressful journey for the people taking her to her new home (Bobbi didn’t turn a hair!)

Unfortunately the bottom of the travel box broke and it was touch and go that the airline would let her fly, but luckily it was fixed 30 mins before they flew!

She was collected at the other end by her new mum and she has gone from strength to strength, she has put on weight, she goes for walks everyday and plays with all the other dogs off the lead in the big park.
