Special Projects

From time to time we need help with specific short or long term projects.  If you want to help, but are maybe not able to work on an ongoing basis, helping with a specific project is a good way for you to know exactly how much time and work is required and to then decide if that suits you.

Be a Tree – translation required

We need to translate all our Be a Tree programme resources into Greek.  If you are a fluent Greek speaker perhaps this is something you could do for us?  If you would like to talk through what is required please email us at:

info@cyprusdogsrehomingassociation.com or call either Julie Quinn on 99717971 or Carole Husein on 96892205

We will be happy to talk with you.

CYPRUS DOGS REHOMING ASSOCIATION’S  EDUCATION PROGRAM

AIMS OF THE PROGRAM?    WORKING  TOGETHER TO CHANGE DOGS’ LIVES AND GIVE THEM A FUTURE

HOW CAN YOU HELP?   How about becoming a member of a training team in a rescue facility

WHERE:    In one of our private rescue kennels on the outskirts of Limassol.

WHAT WOULD YOU DO?  You would be trained to teach the dogs some basic good manners.  Walk them effectively, play with them, groom them, teach them all sorts of entertaining games:  agility, tricks etc.  In fact you would liven up their day.  You would give them exercise, mental stimulation, fun and lots of love.  All this relieves the boredom and also prepares the dogs better for re-homing and staying in that home for the rest of his life.

WHAT WOULD  YOU GET OUT OF IT?  There is nothing like that feeling you get when you know you have been instrumental in making a dog’s life better.  You would be part of an education program designed to train trainers.  You would be part of a team of nice people. You would learn current training methods and achieve new skills.

Some of the trainers are doing educational courses related to dog training and behaviour – we support them in this and help them all we can.

HOW ELSE COULD YOU HELP?

You could join our Be a Tree program.  Visiting schools and showing children how to stay safe around dogs.

You could join our Tales to Tails Therapy Dogs.  Either join with your dog (training will be given to suitable dogs (and their owners)  or join in a supporting role.

You can be part of any of the above,  even if you are unable to work in a shelter , as we need people in supporting roles. ie. admin, fund raising etc.

FUTURE PROJECTS.  There are other projects in the pipe line and we need volunteers to be part of these.

MOST IMPORTANT  REQUIREMENTS?       A LOVE OF DOGS AND  TO BE A TEAM PLAYER
