For some time, she has lived in a foster home and is slowly beginning to trust people again. But she has definitely had bad experiences in her past as she is still very wary of strangers and anything new. However, we do see that she wants to make friends and she is fighting hard to overcome her fear. Dilys has the typical character of a Cypriot dog. Despite her bad experiences she never shows any aggression, but is submissive, crouching, with fast movements, and her whole body language is just pure submission and appeasement. However, once she realizes that nothing bad is going to happen to her, she can not get enough cuddles! She cuddles for her life happy and is very gentle. Dilys would be ideal for people who want to devote themselves to a dog that needs help to have a new life. It is always a special experience to help such a dog, as they slowly begin to enjoy their lives, play and just be normal, but it also requires patience and empathy. Just look at that face, why? He is a gorgeous looking little boy! He came to PAWS when he was just 4 months old and now nearly 4 years have gone by. It really is time for his big break and we desperately want to turn his life around. Tristan knows nothing of the world outside of the shelter, except his daily walks in the surrounding area. He loves people more than anything. Cuddling would be his perfect life if only someone would give him a chance. Tristan is the favourite of many helpers at the shelter because he just has a very loving and engaging personality. Lea (J)

Date of birth: October 2012 High to shoulder: 46 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: May 2014 Lea was thrown over the fence of a shelter. She was very thin, anxiously and she hobbled. The investigation at the vet found that her leg was broken. Lea was immediately operated, in the hope to heal the leg. But unfortunately it is a very old fracture and that is not easy to fix. Lea has no pain, she only hobbles and doesn´t tread on the leg. Lea is a very sweet dog who likes to cuddle. Lea goes very well with other dogs. Goldie 2 (P)

Date of birth: January 2014 High to shoulder: 34 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: May 2014 Maple, Goldie, Hattie and Sheba belong to one of the numerous litters that have been left at the gates of the shelter. Never before have so many pups been received, and certainly not as whole litters. The four girls have a brother, Finley, but he is currently reserved at PAWS. The 5 had the good fortune to get into a foster home, because they were so young that they would not have survived in the shelter. Now they are at PAWS but, except for Finley, none of the girls have found a home. Finley and his sister Hattie are the two biggest puppies in the litter, all the others are slightly smaller, but otherwise all are very similar. On the video you can see a bright puppy pack that are excited, sniffing around on the floor. Usually the puppy gang are more interested in people and pleased with every visit, but the video was recorded immediately after feeding time, and it seems as if all 5 want to track down the last morsel of food – nothing to go to waste! All puppies show no fear at the shelter, but of course do not yet know much of the rest of the world. The foster home said that the five were almost house trained just before they were taken back to the shelter.
