Lukas (F)

Laura, Lukas, Lonnie and Liam belong to a union of four who were dumped at the end of February at the gates of PAWS. The four were then about 2 weeks old and had no chance of survival if they could get a place in a foster home. Two of the puppies have been homed here on the island and only Lukas and Lonnie, are still looking for their own home. All puppies have recovered magnificently in the foster home, and even now at 12 weeks old they are still small dogs, compared to other puppies of the same age in the foster home. So it is becoming apparent that they are small to medium in size. They have no fear of people and can not remember ever having experienced anything bad. So they just enjoy their existence playing and running, when they are not sleeping. If you want to give Lukas a home, please contact us. Riley (F)

Date of birth: June 2009 High to shoulder: 66 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: June 2014 Riley was born in June 2009. He is a very beautiful Setter X, castrated and vaccinated. He has a wonderful, gentle character and is very active and lively. Maybe that’s the reason, that he is very thin. We did several blood tests but the results showed us he is healthy and in a good condition. Riley is good with other dogs, but he prefers older dogs. He doesn’t like puppies very much. He was found as a stray, almost starved. He has lived since then in a foster home. Riley would need some training to learn basic commands and he is not used to walking on a lead at the moment, but he is already house trained. He can be re-homed in Cyprus, but only as an inside the house dog… not as a guard dog and not for any other purposes except being bathed in attention and love. We would like a family who likes to cuddle him and make him a member of the family. If you are interested in Riley, you can visit him in Drousheia. Joey (J)

Date of birth: October 2012 High to shoulder: 50 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: June 2014 Joey was found in front of the fence of a shelter. He was limping and the lower part of his right hind leg was hanging down. His full story you can read here: The story of Joey. Joey was operated on immediately and now the leg needs time to heal. Joey has a lovely character. He is playful, nice to us and very addictive to our proximity. He has no problems with other dogs, quite the contrary, he enjoys every society. Mabel (F)

Date of birth: January 2014 High to shoulder: 28 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: June 2014 Mabel was found in a field together with her 5 siblings. Three puppies are already adopted and only Mabel, Marcus and Melody are still looking for a home. We assume that all three will be are small to medium sized dogs. The three are typical puppies and have no fear of humans. In the foster home they get used from day to day in a life in a house. Merle (J)

Date of birth: January 2014 High to shoulder: 42 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: June 2014 Merle got dumped with her brother and sitser in front of a Municipality Pound. The pound was totally overcrowded and luckily a volunteer of the pound could find space in a shelter for all three. Before they arrived in the shelter, they got checked by a vet and vaccinated. The first days Merle was afraid about people, but very playful with each other. Day by day she lost fear and now loves people and other dogs. Holly (P)

Date of birth: November 2007 High to shoulder: 23 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: June 2014 Vinnie was brought to to shelter by the owners along with Holly. Behind this is a very sad story. The woman became ill and the family could no longer sufficient the care for the dogs. Vinnie and Holly are very affectionate and woken dogs and miss the human attention and cuddles very much. Both dogs are fully vaccinated and have an european passport. A very big dream of all volunteers at the shelter is that the two could stay together. In a pinch we could also separate the two.
