Vinnie (P)

Date of birth: November 2007 High to shoulder: 32 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: May 2014   Vinnie was brought to to shelter by the owners along with Holly. Behind this is a very sad story. The woman became ill and the family could no longer sufficient the care for the dogs. Vinnie and Holly are very affectionate and woken dogs and miss the human attention and cuddles very much. Both dogs are fully vaccinated and have an european passport. A very big dream of all volunteers at the shelter is that the two could stay together. In a pinch we could also separate the two. Their coat requires care and should be brushed regularly. When you have two places or just one place free on your sofa, please contact us.           Related...

Beethoven (F)

Date of birth: September 2010 High to shoulder: 50 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: May 2014   Beethoven was released together with his sons Petzas and Tom at the shelter after he has spent his life in a home. All three dogs were very unhappy at the shelter. Beethoven was the first of the three dogs that have been adopted. After a few weeks, the people brought back Beethoven with the note: he has bitten visitors and partially reacts aggressively to other people. How exactly it is expired we don´t know. We were told that the visit Beethoven has spoiled with treats and when they got up, he has bitten… So Beethoven was back to the shelter. What to do with a dog that bites. We have trained a lot with Beethoven and we have found out that Beethoven is not aggressive. Maybe he was beset of the visit to his former owners. Beethoven needs leadership. But he is a nice dog. He loves to be petted, but he must always know that he is not the boss. Beethoven is very intelligent and eager to learn, so training would be very important for him. Would you like to give Beethoven a chance? Then please contact us.   Related...

Lonnie (F)

Date of birth: February 2014 High to shoulder: 19 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: May 2014   Say hello to little Lonnie. Laura, Lukas, Lonnie and Liam belong to a union of four who were dumped at the end of February at the gates of PAWS. The four were then about 2 weeks old and had no chance of survival if they could get a place in a foster home. Two of the puppies have been homed here on the island and only Lonnie and Lukas,  are still looking for their own home. All puppies have recovered magnificently in the foster home, and even now at 12 weeks old they are still small dogs, compared to other puppies of the same age in the foster home.  So it is becoming apparent that they are small to medium in size. They have no fear of people and can not remember ever having experienced anything bad. So they just enjoy their existence playing and running, when they are not sleeping. If you want to give Lonnie a home, please contact us. This lovely little boy will be ready to leave in late May / early June, so start planning the fun you will have with them now!         Related...

Sandy 3 (P)

Date of birth: February 2010 High to shoulder: 53 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: May 2014   Sandy was taken in by PAWS as a stray and is about 4 years old. She is a Labrador mixed breed and she looks as if her skin is too big for her body, poor girl. She has a really great character, very gentle and cuddly with people, but also a little shy. We do not know what she has experienced before, but it only takes one quick movement, or a slightly louder voice, and she lies down. Sandy does not pass out in a panic, but lies down on her back. We assume that Sandy has never lived in a home and therefore has a lot to learn. At the shelter Sandy appears a rather quiet dog who goes out of her way to avoid any confrontation, but once she feels safe and secure she will gain in confidence. We see Sandy as an ideal family dog. She never shows a sign of aggression and gets on well with the other dogs in her kennel. Sandy wants an active family that enjoys doing things with her, long walks and a visit to a dog school would be ideal.   Take a look at the video to get to know this sweet girl a bit better, then come at see her!     Related...
