Sweetie (F)

Date of birth: October 2013 High to shoulder: 42 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: June 2014 Sweetie was rescued up in the mountains by animal rights volunteers. She was in a very bad state and they were desperately looking for a foster home for her. Sweetie is easygoing with everyone and everything, whether cats, children or other dogs – even a small, annoying puppy coaxed a somewhat bored look from her. The little boy wanted to cuddle Sweetie and he kept trying to get into the pictures! All in all, Sweetie has a happy nature but also loves to sleep! That was the case for the photo session. She always wanted to return to her bed and therefore most of the photos were taken there. Sweetie is temporarily in a foster home, but if not a home is found soon she will have to go to the shelter. She would be a great family dog, is no problem, but also has to learn a lot, as she has probably never lived in a home. Sweetie needs to ‘work’, typical probably of her breeding. She needs brain work as well as physical exercise, whether that be with long walks or dog sports. You will definitely find something that would give you and Sweetie lots of fun. Digby (F)

Date of birth: March 2013 High to shoulder: 40 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: June 2014 Digby was found in a field at the age of about 3 months. Shortly afterwards he was adopted by an English family who assured us the dog will always stay with them, even if they leave the island. As so often, the family left the island and Digby had to stay in Cyprus. Digby is a very insecure dog. He seeks confirmation from the people if something is ok or not. Unfortunately Digby pees out of fear. Therefore, the new family should not be angry, but should work on his insecurity and give him confidence. Digby has lived with three other dogs. He is very friendly with dogs and children, He just needs love and understanding. He is a funny little dog with a long silky coat that requires regular care. Kanello (F)

Date of birth: February 2013 High to shoulder: 32 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: June 2014 Kanello has lived with a family since he was a puppy. Now the family wants to emigrate and,as happens to so many other dogs on the island, they don’t want him any more. They bought him as just a hobby, as a playmate for the kids, but not for life, only until it becomes inconvenient to have a dog. Kanello’s life was OK despite having a family that did pay him much attention. Although he is friendly and happy around people, it seems his previous family probably didn’t spend much time with him. He is a funny, small, young man and is full of energy. Kanello would welcome an active family give him lots of time and attention a family he can finally call his forever home. Date of birth: December 2012 High to shoulder: 41 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: June 2014 Chica is a one year old Pointer bitch, found on one of the hunting Sunday’s this year. At first she was very scared of people, and it seems that her experience with people was not too good until now. Since she has been in the shelter she has started to trust people and turned into a very playful and loving young dog. Princess 2 (P)

Date of birth: September 2009 High to shoulder: 42 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: June 2014 Princess was found as she was seriously injured. This was in 2011 in Coral Bay. Someone has tried to kill Princess, and probably struck with a heavy object to her. Her head was seriously injured and it was not clearly if she survived. The scars have healed, but the tracks are still visible on her body. Also her psychological wounds are healed, today she trusts people again.
