She is very people oriented and would welcome training and cuddles. It would be helpful to visit a dog school, because Butterscotch is very eager to learn. She was found as a stray and is very affectionate and cuddly. Butterscotch is a quiet little girl in the house. Lulu 4 (P)

Date of birth: July 2011 High to shoulder: 32 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: August 2014 Little Lulu was delivered to the shelter in a sorry state, more dead than alive, after she was found on the edge of the road. She was desperately thirsty and full of ticks, terrified, exhausted and dehydrated. Shortly after she arrived at PAWS, she had two seizures we thought she had died. Since the vet has not witnessed these ‘attacks’, he could not confirm whether or not she may be suffering with epilepsy. However, Lulu again beat death. She was taken to the vet to try to save her. As she had been given an anaesthetic we decided to do some blood tests to see what else may be wrong with this poor, battered dog. We were all very surprised when neither ehrlichiosis or leishmaniasis anzeigten showed positive and we all felt that this little fighter deserved a chance. Lulu has now been some time at PAWS and is on the mend. There have been no more seizures and she is slowly gaining weight. Her body still looks very bruised and she does not shine with beauty, but her character shines through. Even after all she has been through Lulu is a very happy and easy going dog.When people come to her, she is very happy and wants to be petted. Lulu loves attention and has settled in well at the shelter. Presumably, this place is much better than compared to her previous life – even like paradise for her. If you do not care too much about outward appearances, but can look into the inside the heart of a dog, then Lulu would love to be a part of your family. She has such a lot of love to give, and with good care and attention, we are sure, that out of an ugly duckling, there will be a beautiful swan. Yanto (J)

Date of birth: May 2014 High to shoulder: 23 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: August 2014 Yanto was found together with his mother, his siblings, another mother dog and her puppies under a container, where the dogs lived, far outside from Limassol. We assume , that they were abondoned there and left to their certain death. In the enormous heat that just exists on Cyprus, they would sooner or later die of thirst and internally dry. All puppies were absolutely filthy and over and over full of fleas. Soon they had sucked the last blood. They were rescued and are now living in a shelter. They all have recovered, the fleas are gone and all puppies are normal playful puppies who enjoy their lives. They have a lot of fun together. Zara 3 (F)

Date of birth: January 2014 High to shoulder: 60 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: August 2014 Zara is a rough diamond just waiting to be ”polished”. She is young, impetuous, very people oriented, but also very large and has plenty of nonsense in her head because she has not yet had the benefit of any training. And training would be great for Zara as she is extremely intelligent and motivated to please men. Zara’s mother was left alone at the end of her pregnancy at the gates of Paws, whereupon the animal shelter manager took her home so she could give birth to her 6 puppies. One of the puppies is Zara, and she did go to a home but because she is a very young, large and active dog they could not cope with her because they did not do any training with her. For a large dog like Zara,training is vital. Zara does lives in the house and is house trained, and she also knows sit. What Zara needs is an experienced ‘dog’ family who understand what she needs and are prepared to take the time to turn her into a real little sparkler! Related...
