He was just 2 months old. Fortunately, the shelter could create space in a kennel for the brothers and now they live there. Boogie is a typical playful puppy and he loves the attention of people. We assume that when he is fully grown he will be medium sized dog. Boogie has shorter fur than the other two, so he needs a little less grooming than his brothers. Buddy 5 (P)

Date of birth: April 2014 High to shoulder: 30 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: August 2014 Buddy is a wonderful puppy who has already had two lots of luck in his life. Can you make it number three? His first lucky break came when he was taken into the shelter to live in safety at a place where he was given food every day and people who care for him. The second break was when we were at a photo shoot for some of the other dogs and we felt we should just say a quick hello to Buddy too. thank goodness we did. We found him half dead and breathing heavily. The day before Buddy was fine and happy and the next morning he was deathly ill. We saw at the first glance that every minute counted, because his gums were already blue and he could hardly breathe. So we raced, at 7 clock, to the vet with him. The vet gave Buddy some hope. They diagnosed a severe pneumonia, injected antibiotics and for 1 hour we tried Buddy with an oxygen mask on his muzzle but he kept pushing it off. That gave us hope because it showed that even close to death he was a little fighter. We then had to drive to another vet to get an xray done on his lungs, and the finding was devastating. The lung was full of fluid and the vet told us: ‘Sit down dear now, we may lose him’. Buddy was put on a drip and we could only hope and pray. The video you see of him was shot one day before his illness … hard to imagine that 24 hours later he was fighting for his life. But as we had already discovered, Buddy is a fighter. Just as quickly as he went down, he pulled himself back up again and the next day the vet allowed us to take him home. Since then, two weeks have passed and Buddy is doing great. The pneumonia was caused by the kennel cough, which had broken out at the shelter. Buddy is now so ready for his own new home and when you meet this little guy, you will see it is very difficult to resist his charm. Can you be his lucky charm so that he can be your ‘best Buddy’?
