Blacky (K)

Date of birth: September 2010 High to shoulder: 32 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: March 2014 Blacky is 3 years old and was found by a family who gave her a home. Unfortunately they had to return to their home country and could not afford to take her with them. She is a friendly little girl, house trained and not to excitable. She is unhappy in the shelter because she is used to being in a proper home. Tom (P)

Date of birth: September 2012 High to shoulder: 42 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: March 2014 Tom was given up, together with his dog buddies Petzas and Beethoven, by a Cypriot lady who was put under pressure by her neighbours and then the mayor to give up her dogs. Having been threatened with going to court she had no choice but to give up the dogs for adoption. So, as with his buddies, he found himself in the shelter feeling completely lost and helpless because their owner had been very good to them and they could not understand what has happened to them. All three dogs were vaccinated in good condition, but not neutered. The three are still not really settled. Beethoven was rehomed recently, but Petzas and Tom are still at the shelter, waiting for someone to take them back to the environment they were used to. All three dogs show similar behaviour and we are not sure whether it is due to their distress at being in the shelter, or if maybe the owner rarely or never had contact with unknown people. We think it’s probably a mixture of both. Tom is still a little more anxious than Petzas, but he also shows that he would like to play, he is just so nervous to try. Tom can certainly lose his fear and nervousness, all he needs is more self-confidence. We do not know how much the dogs have learned in their old family, but they do still need quite a bit of training. Teaching him new things would be fun for all the family. He is very affectionate and cuddly when he gets to know you, and has a nice temperament. We feel Tom would love an active family that responds positively to his uncertainty and can teach him that he need not be afraid of anything, and give him lots of love and attention. Hugo (F)

Date of birth: December 2013 High to shoulder: currently 26 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: March 2014 Little Hugo was found on a village street. Luckily he could find a foster home until there is space in the shelter for him. Hugo is a very friendly and playful puppy. He likes to play with everybody and anything. Tina (K)

Date of birth: November 2012 High to shoulder: 26 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: March 2014 Tina is a lovely little Pekinese girl, about 14 months old. Sadly, she was dumped in a garden and is now desperately hoping for a loving home and family. From her behaviour, we feel she must have had a home before. In the shelter she is a quite dog, but it could well be that when she finds a new family that she will be a little more lively as her confidences grows. She is good with other dogs and is looking now for a loving family which will give her all the love she deserves for ever. Date of birth: October 2013 High to shoulder: 38 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Admitted to the shelter: He is currently in a foster home in Germany. Sam and his brothers could be rescued out of horrible circumstances they had to live in. When they came to the shelter, they were very skinny and in bad condition. Now four weeks later, they all recovered and they are healthy and vaccinated. Sam is active, playful and loves the attention of people. He is looking for a loving active family. Sushi (J)

Date of birth: October 2013 High to shoulder: 40 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: March 2014 Sushi and her sister Bonnie are sisters of the poor pups which had to spend the first weeks of their lives in horrible circumstances. These both have been more lucky and could have been placed into a foster home. Now their luck is unfortunately finished, their foster home couldn’t keep them any longer and they had to join their brothers in the shelter. Sushi is only a little smaller than her sister Bonnie, she is also very active and playful. She is looking for a loving and active family.
