Date of birth: February 2014 High to shoulder: 18 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: March 2014 Sirius, Sambuca, Surion and the only girl Sukino were retrieved from our vet from a family. The vet was there to visit, saw the dog and her four puppies and immediately took the whole small family with in their clinic. The mother dog will now sterilized. The little puppies are alive and well. Her mother is a small Pekinese mixed breed dog, and we assume that the father was a Poodle/Terrier mixed breed dog. Only Sukino has short hair. All four are just typical puppies. They love to sleep, eat and cuddle. At the photo shoot they were all more or less in a deep sleep and not very pleased to be woken up. Sukino enchants with her black muzzle. Unlike their brothers her coat doesn´t need much care. Please contact us, if you want to adopt Sukino. Related...
Read MoreDate of birth: November 2012 High to shoulder: 58 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: March 2014 Valentino was found running completely distraught on the busy highway on the outskirts of the shelter. He no longer knew where to go and ran into the traffic again and again. He was very afraid to come to us. Despite several attempts calling him and trying to entice him with food he still kept running back into the traffic which nearly gave us a heart attack because the traffic stop to give him a chance. With the help of PAWS staff and a dog that we brought along Valentino finally found some confidence and we were able to bring him to safety. Presumably Valentino was deposited close to PAWS and left to whatever fate befell him. He’s been at PAWS for a while now and shows no fear towards humans, not even one trace. Although if someone moves fast around him you can certainly tell that he has had some bad experiences with people, but he quickly learned that in the shelter everyone means well towards him. His previous owner probably had a picture of the breed German Shepherd with the tail docked, so that what they did! Although Valentino looks like a purebred German Shepherd he is it a bit small, but this could possibly be due to poor posture and bad food. He also has a crippled paw. It is missing a toe and it seems that this is possible from birth. However, this does not affect him in any way.. Valentino will be gradually become more playful as he grows in confidence when he is able to live in safety with a permanent loving home and family. He is very loving and cuddly and enjoys the attention of his nurse. He also goes merrily along on the walks. He is a rather quiet dog. We recommend dog school for him, because Valentino certainly has a lot to learn and has never lived in a home. Take a look at the video clip of him, he is such a gentle boy: Related...
Read MoreDate of birth: June 2006 High to shoulder: 38 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: March 2014 Stan is seven and a half years old, vaccinated and neutered, but we don’t know much about his history is. He had lived with a lady for three months before coming to the shelter but where he came from before, no one can say. In any case, Stan knows people and is not afraid of them. Also on commands such as SIT, he responds, which suggests that he comes from an English family that has probably left him behind! While other dogs were being photographed he sat in his kennel looking sad. Then after a while he ventured out to see what was happening, and here he is. He is a rather quiet fellow who loves to be petted. He is fine with other dogs, but we think that he likes to take things rather quiet – perhaps because he is slightly overweight! Although Stan is a bit older he still deserves to find his forever home. For him, a more peaceful family, but who are still active and like to go out would be ideal, but he doesn’t need daily, hour-long walks. Love and cuddles are what he needs most at this time of his life, so that the sadness disappears from his eyes. Take a look at the video and is Stan is your man, then let us know: Related...
Read MoreDate of birth: January 2012 High to shoulder: 32cm Vaccinated: yes neutered: not yet Homed: March 2014 Little Peggy was found by an English couple on the main road. For three days she wandered around there, and almost got run over buy a car and then her rescuers managed to get her. She is a miniature Pincher, about 2 years old and is vaccinated. Peggy is in the PAWS animal shelter and has settled to some extent there. But she obviously comes from a home with children as she understands them and is good with them, and she loves adults too. She is even good with cats. We know this because her rescuers have kept her in their home for a few days until the holidays were over. They have also told us that the little girl is house-trained. We want a good home for little Peggy. She is a very sweet and not really typical Pinscher Dog. Unfortunately, her tail was extremely short cropped and one ear is not perfect, but that does not detract from her charm. The little girl is lively and playful and loves to cuddle and be petted. She would be an ideal family dog, or equally would certainly enjoy living with an agile and athletic individual. Why not have a look at the video and if you want to give lovely little Peggy a home then contact us and having her sitting on your sofa, cuddled up soon! Related...

She is a nice young terrier girl, but still very nervous about people. Seems that she didn’t get treated good by humans until she was found. She is young and if she finds a family which loves her and helping her to get trust back into human beings, she’ll be thankful to you for the rest of her life. She is good with other dogs and would be also ok with older children. If you fall in love with Helen and like to give her a forever home, please contact us. Related...
