Ralph (P)

Date of birth: June 2013 High to shoulder: 32 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: June 2014   Ralph was like so many other dogs picked up on the street and brought to the shelter. He was only 5 months old and had probably never been in a home. For several months now people just pass him by, no one has showed any interest in him, no one seems to want to give him a home. For the writer it is incomprehensible after she has spent some time with Ralph. Ralph is lively and playful, but when he is separated from the pack, he is gentle and shy and cuddly. With his coat pattern he looks so cute and funny that it is difficult to understand why no-one has yet fallen in love with him. He is an absolutely perfect size and fits on every little lap!! With Ralph you could take long walks or perhaps even try Agility work with him. Ralph is determined to have fun and most of all he would love to finally learn what it means to be loved and respected by his very own family. Please contact us if you have just love the look of Ralph and want to make him yours.         Related...

Teddy 5 (F)

Date of birth: June 2013 High to shoulder: 40 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: June 2014   Teddy’s family loves him very much, but they have now decided that it would be better for Teddy to get a home where he doesn´t have to share the attention with 3 other dogs. Teddy is very affectionate and he loves to cuddle and to be stroked. He gets along very well with the other dogs. Teddy is housetrained and he knows how to behave in a home. He is very open to people, but he knows mainly his own family and his home. He was anxious at the vet and had also anxiety before stranger, but these are all things that he can learn. Teddy is a very intelligent dog and capable of learning. Maybe it would make fun to do dog sports with him. He would love to visit a dog school, where he can learn the little dog ABC. He will certainly initially be very insecure in a new environment because he has been born in a home and knows nothing else, but he will find his way with lots of love and empathy. Would you like to be Teddy’s new home? Then please contact us.         Related...

Courtney (P)

Date of birth: January 2014 High to shoulder: 41 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: June 2014   Courtney, Kira, Kiki and Kat were all born at PAWS. Their mother was left at the animal shelter and shortly afterwards she gave birth to 6 pups. Unfortunately, they caught parvovirus before the puppy gang had any immunity and while the 4 girls survived, two puppies sadly died. All four have now been quite some time in the shelter, safe and sound but sadly no interest in them. Their mother is a medium-sized pointer bitch who has lovingly cared for her puppies and helped make them wonderful dogs. She has already been re-homed here in Cyprus. Now we hope that her offspring will soon have the good fortune to come find beautiful homes. We assume that the four will be medium to large sized dogs. All four are very lively and playful.  They like people, but as soon as something new happens they become a little cautious – so even with the photo session. Out of the whole gang Kat is the least secure and at her to approach her in the kennel is a little difficult. Although she comes running and wants to be petted, she still remains at a safe distance. If you want to give a home to one of these 4 girls, and want a loyal, athletic dog in your home then please contact us. Related...

Little moments of happiness…

On some days they are just there, these little moments of happiness. And these little moments of happiness arise as so often, usually just by chance… In Geesthacht/Germany a woman visited another woman and they began a smalltalk. One woman is a part of our foster family Flindt and she has a big heart, also for our dogs in Cyprus. The other woman has also a big heart for dogs and she is part of the company ISG Intermed Service GmbH & Co.KG in Geesthacht. This company supplies since 1985 doctors, hospitals, laboratories and other healthcare facilities with medical consumables, equipment and facilities equipment. At the end of her little talk was clear that the company ISG Intermed Service GmbH & Co.KG would be happy to help us with a “small” donation. Our foster mom Nicole Flindt drove with her rather tiny car to the premises of Intermed to pick up the donation. What came next, made her first speechless: there were neatly packaged, thirteen large cardboard boxes containing 50 liters of disinfectant hand cleaner, various surgical gowns, face masks, gloves, swabs and bandages. In addition, we got a private donation from the woman, who is part of the company Intermed. We got in addition of the boxes  dog baskets, bowls, towels, fur blankets and leashes. After Nicole´s first speechlessness she stood in front of a purely logistical problem. How do she get so many boxes and then even the dog baskets in a really tiny car? But Nicole has done it. Two days later family Flindt brought in support of foster dog Goldie the donation according to Paco Logistik GmbH in Norderstedt, so the donation can leave Germany direction Cyprus soon. It’s great to see the enthusiasm of the people in Germany to help our dogs here in Cyprus.   A big thank you goes to Mrs. Hobst, Mrs. Kramer and the company ISG Intermed Service GmbH & Co.KG for the great support and the generous donation. Now the purchase of the very expensive medical consumables will be unnecessary for some time. A heartfelt thank you goes also to family Flindt.       Related...
