Tekla

Name: Tekla (female) Date of birth:  April 2008 Height to shoulder:  34 cm Vaccinated:  yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, not tested with cats Admitted to shelter:  April 2017   Tekla was found together with Tami by shelter helpers. They were tied up at the shelter fence. Both were in a good condition, wore collars, and they had food and water next to them.  Tekla was initially quite confused, unfortunately we don´t know how long they were already at the fence. All night, or few hours, we don´t know. They was brought to the vet and the check revealed that Tekla is positive for Leishmaniasis. Her chance to get adopted is not very high.  Meanwhile, Tekla has noticed that she is safe and someone cares for her every day. She trusts the helpers and is well with all other dogs. Tekla has a rather quiet and very sweet character and she don´t want to spend the rest of her life in the shelter. She only need someone who cares for her and loves her like she is, a super lovely girl. She is looking for a place in a loving environment. Do you want to give Tekla a chance? Please let us know.    ...

Immediately she saw that his left hind leg was crippled. He was born like that and we guess that he was exposed and left to his fate. His finder immediately collected him from the street and took him home with him. After he was feed up he was ready for a surgery on his crippled leg. Meanwhile, Limni has completely recovered from the sugery and is a joyful and playful puppy. Limni loves all people and understands very well with other dogs. He don´t care about that he is “only” a three-legged dog, he run and play like all the other puppies.   If you are in love with Limni and you would like to give him a second chance in life, please contact us.    ...

Archie

Name: Archie (male) Date of birth:  October 2014 Height to shoulder:  35 cm Vaccinated:  yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, not tested with cats Admitted to shelter:  January 2016   Archie was found on the highway from Limassol to Larnaca. He was tied up there. His Finder brought him immediately to a vet because he was not in good condition. He had barely fur in his face and his tail didn´t looked good. The vet check revealed that he must have been sitting there for days without food and water. He was completely dried up. The lack of hair in his face is a result of stress. Archie´s finder could find for him a foster home, where he can recover. Unfortunately he can not stay there forever, so he is looking now for a patient and loving home. Meanwhile his fur in the face come back and his tail has healed, but unfortunately Marty was tested leishmaniasis positive. Only one thing is Archie´s wish: he don´t want to be tied up anymore. Archie is a cheerful dog and he loves cuddles and attention. He gets along well with other dogs. Archie wants now to explore the world and would love to go on long walks and to play. Max

Name: Max (male) Date of birth:  September 2012 Height to shoulder:  53 cm Vaccinated:  yes Neutered:  yes ok with dogs, not tested with cats Admitted to shelter:  August 2016   Max lived for a long time as a street dog in Cyprus, before he could be caught by a volunteer. Fortunately, first he found a place in a loving foster home where he could get in touch with people and have a lot of contact with other dogs. At first Max was very anxious and nervous, but gradually he put aside his shyness. After a long time in the foster home unfortunately Max was tested positive of Leishmaniasis. The chance to get a home for a darker Pointer is low in any case, but with Leishmaniasis it is almost zero. So Max had to move into a shelter, the places in foster homes are rarely and needed for dogs which fly off soon or for puppies.  Max still wants his own space. He sleeps for himself and will certainly never be a “lap dog”, who will be stroked all day. He already understands a few commandos and waits well until he is in the turn with his food. Lovely for Max would be people which have a house with a garden which must be safe, because through Max’s past he finds every small gap in the fence. Do you like dogs with their own character? Then Max is just the right one for you!   Please contact us, if you are interested in adopting him.      ...
