Jake 3 (P)

Date of birth: November 2011 High to shoulder: 40 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: September 2014   Jake was found in Larnaca. Larnaca is very far away from Paphos and no one can remember what’s behind Jake’s story … we suspect he was picked up as a stray. Jake is a very long time at the shelter and he doesn´t seem to be the type of dog that is responsive to people. But this can only be due his inconspicuous appearance, because in his fur lies a great character that you can´t see from the outside. Jake is a bright and lively, but still soft and in some moments also a reserved and cautious dog. After his initial shyness Jake wants to be petted and then he loves the attention of people. If you want to look every day in the beautiful eyes of Jake, please contact us.         Related...

Lucy 10 (P)

Date of birth: September 2013 High to shoulder: 50 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: September 2014   Lucy was abandoned at the age of about 2 months in the mountains in a village. Today, at the age of 8 months, Lucy is a great dog, and her face shows more of a Collie character. Lucy will continue to grow and she would urgently need a little weight on her ribs, but this will only be possible in a new home. Lucy has a very gentle Chrakter and knows nothing of life. She likes people, but is initally shy. We wish for her a loving family, with a lot of patience and empathy. Please contact us if you want to take Lucy with you, so she doesn´t have to spend her entire life in the shelter.         Related...

Tzar (P)

Date of birth: July 2011 High to shoulder: 40 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: September 2014   Tzar was simply left tied together with Tattiana and two other dogs at the gate of the shelter in the middle of the night. All dogs looked as though they had hitherto lived in a proper home and we suspect that these dogs had been well looked after by their owners, but probably they have left the island, and the dogs are superfluous to their requirements – so sad. Tzar is a pretty Cyprus poodle who is very friendly to people. He shares a small kennel with his girlfriend Tattiana and they get on very well. Since we safely assume that the other two dogs have lived together with the two, we can say that Tzar gets along well with other dogs. Soon he will be integrated at the shelter in a pack, but without his girlfriend Tattiana because she has to move to be with the bigger dogs. Tzar shows no particular fears and is a friendly, happy dog. If you have fallen in love with his handsome face, then contact us. His coat needs to be brushed regularly and occasionally even a haircut should be part of his personal care routine! Please contact us if you want to give Tzar a new home where he can stay forever.           Related...

Anna 3 (F)

Date of birth: May 2014 High to shoulder: 45 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Admitted to the shelter: July 2014   Anna was taken to the shelter, but it soon it was discovered that it was not the right place for little Anna. She was so scared that she would not eat.  Happily one of the shelter managers decided to take  her home to foster. Now Anna has recovered well. She is certainly still no daredevil, but not terrified, just cautious. When she is with the people she knows and trusts, she is very happy. On the video you can see that she comes to you to be petted.  This was back in the area at the animal shelter, where she is now and then for a few hours be.  You can also see that she responds in a very submissive way when pushed a little.  Anna is a dog that does not go forward to things, but always pulls back. She has made great progress in her foster home, is house trained, doing very well on a leash, gets along with other dogs and is a very gentle and friendly dog. Anna will be a big dog. She has beautiful amber eyes and a very special coat colour that is hard to describe, but lovely. If you want a dog like Anna, a gentle giant, then now would be the right time to take Anna to home so that she can grow into your family.     Related...

Hattie (P)

Date of birth: January 2014 High to shoulder: 39 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: not yet Homed: September 2014   Maple, Goldie, Hattie and Sheba belong to one of the numerous litters that have been left at the gates of the shelter. Never before have so many pups been received, and certainly not as whole litters. The four girls have a brother, Finley, but he is currently reserved at PAWS.  The 5 had the good fortune to get into a foster home, because they were so young that they would not have survived in the shelter. Now they are at PAWS but, except for Finley, none of the girls have found a home.  Finley and his sister Hattie are the two biggest puppies in the litter, all the others are slightly smaller, but otherwise all are very similar. On the video you can see a bright puppy pack that are excited, sniffing around on the floor.  Usually the puppy gang are more interested in people and pleased with every visit, but the video was recorded immediately after feeding time, and it seems as if all 5 want to track down the last morsel of food – nothing to go to waste! All puppies show no fear at the shelter, but of course do not yet know much of the rest of the world. The foster home said that the five were almost house trained just before they were taken back to the shelter. They also had contact with numerous cats and showed no aggression, but wanted to play, of course. If they want to give one of these puppies a home, log on but please contact us.           Related...

Lucil (F)

Date of birth: June 2013 High to shoulder: 28 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes Homed: September 2014   Lucil was found on 7th March by animal-loving people.  Someone has pushed her out of a moving truck in Parekklishia. The people took her home and there she can remain until she has found a forever home. Lucil has been wormed, treated for ticks and fleas and had her first vaccination. She is a fabulous little puppy. She is very intelligent, gets on brilliantly with other dogs and is learning to get on with cats. She is clean in her pen at night, but is not yet housetrained. We assume that she had previously lived on a chain. On her neck are traces of it. Please contact us, if you are interested to adopt Lucil.     Related...
