Joquin

Name: Joquin (male) Date of birth:  December 2014 Height to shoulder:  40 cm Vaccinated:  yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, not tested with cats Homed: July 2017   The former owner of Joquin and four other Beagles turned to the shelter asking if they could take the dogs because he have not enough time for them. He talked about his babies and how much he loves them and how hard the decision is for him. We were expecting a little happy beagle team and they were very sad that they had to leave their humans.  When Joquin came to the shelter with Gael, Lucky, Uma and Carrie, we didn´t believe our eyes. There was not a funny Beagle group wandering through the gate, no, there were very distraught and frightened, some more shy, other more reserved.  We have no idea how the conditions were where they lived and what they’ve experienced, but it’s not normal for that breed Beagle to be distraught and frightened in that way. Now we are glad that his “babies” are with us and we can try to pampered all of them with loves and attention as much as possible. Would be better they could find a lovely home soon, but we think they are now better in the shelter than before.  Joquin is one of the most frightened of the five Beagles. He is almost panicked when you try to stroke him. It hurts to watch at him when he is like that and we hope we can help him to overcome soon. Joquin needs a family, who help him to overcome his fears as well as possible. We can not say if he can have a completely fearless life one day. If you are in love with Joquin and you would like to help him back to life, please contact us.    ...

Frank

Name: Frank (male) Date of birth:  March 2016 Height to shoulder:  51 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, ok with cats Homed: July 2017   Frank was found in a pound in the Nicosia area. No one knows how he got there and where he comes from.  He had luck and found a foster home, where he lives with other dogs from the pound.  Frank is a very dear boy. He is good with old and young. He loves to little son of his foster home. With other dogs he is also very well.  Frank is a gentle and friendly boy, but he is still shy. Especially car noises makes him fearful and unsafe. It would be nice for him if he could find a family in Cyprus where he could move in. Maybe a flight and transport would be a bit too much for him. Frank´s dream is to find a dear family very soon, who gives him a real home with many walks and lots of strokes. If you would like to give our Frank a loving home, please contact us.         Frank with a kittens:               Update about Frank of his foster home: Frank is safely arrived in his foster home in 21217 Seevetal. Frankie has settled in very well into his new dog group. He is oriented to the dogs and that makes it easier for him to have access to humans. It seems that Frankie has had very bad experiences with people. He has made a little progress in a short time and gradually regains his trust. With love, time and patience, Frankie will learn that he has nothing to fear. Frankie still needs to learn a lot. He is a small clown with funny ideas in his head. He is a joyfull and energetic boy. He is more a dog for the sporty family. Frankie is house-trained, shows no hunting motivation and with a bit of training he is a good dog for walks soon. The foster home is working on it. Frankie can be adopted by beginners, children should be older and the visit of a dog school is recommended. A home with a already existent dog would be great for Frankie, but not a must. You are interested in meeting him? Please contact the team of Zypernpfoten in Not for requests.         ...

Dana

Name: Dana (female) Date of birth:  November 2014 Height to shoulder:  30 cm Vaccinated:  yes Neutered: yes ok with dogs, ok with cats Homed: July 2017   Dana ran around the street in front of a vet clinic and no owner could be found. A volunteer collected her and brought her in the clinic.  She was not microchipped, but she was in good condition. Not dirty and well fed. In the meantime no owner could be found and no one missed her, so it perhaps she was exposed at the clinic, because it was assumed that they would be found there. Dana has a very dear character. She loves humans, other dogs and also with cats she is very well. The volunteer who found her took her in care and reported that she is just a very dear girl. However, he can imagine why she was exposed. She can not be alone. Whenever he left the house, she was barking loudly and for a long time. We assume that their former owners have exposed her for this reason. Her foster home has now worked with her and meanwhile she only barks a few minutes when he leaves and then she stopped and now he can leave her alone. If you are in love with Dana, and would like to give her a loving home, please contact us.    ...
