On Friday 28th February 2014 the following dogs fly off to Hamburg to their new homes: Sam, Sushi, Pumpkin, Narnia, Vicky, Zebedee, Bailey, Delboy, Dennis, Angel and Bonnie. Some of them have already found a home and the others have found a foster home. But one thing all have in common: all of them may begin their big journey into happiness. We wish all dogs a smooth flight and landing. We wish the new families a beautiful Acquaintance time. Arrival report of our dogs: Yesterday, our dogs are arrived in Germany. In Germany, many happy faces expected our precious cargo from the airplane. We want to thank you all, who give a dog from Cyprus a home, love and the chance of a new dog´s life. We want to thank you also to the great foster homes, who give our dogs the chance to start a better life. Vicky, our little sweetie was thrown over the fence of a shelter. She is such a lively dog. She was super happy to get out of her box after landing. Now she is living in Dusseldorf. She has found her forever home. Our little Bonnie was eagerly awaited. She has also found her forever home and is now living in Braunschweig. A multigenerational household will take care of her all day. She gets the dog heaven on earth. Sushi was rescued from terrible conditions. Now she is a happy little puppy who loved people more than anything. She has found a foster home in Germany. Zebedee is now greatly missed in Cyprus. He is very popular here. None of us can understand why such a sweet little man had to endure for so many years at the shelter. Zebedee has found his forever home and he is now living in Beckedorf, in a house with large grounds. Little Narnia was 20 months in the shelter. She has found her own family and lives now in Hude. She begins a life without bars and will certainly have a lot of fun with their new family. Bailey was rescued from terrible conditions and could be placed in a shelter. There he had recovered. Now he has found a foster home, but perhaps he may even stay there. Good luck beauty! Angel was submitted at the shelter after 7 years with her family. Now she gets her second chance and moved to a foster home with an option to takeover. We keep our fingers crossed. Good luck. The Little Pumpkin was found as a stray when she was 4 months old. She came in a foster home in Cyprus, where she could recover. Pumpkin has found a foster home in Germany, where she has a better chance of being adopted. Dennis was rescued at the last minute before killing. He has a very loving character and he is very smart. Dennis has found in foster home in Hamburg. In Germany he has better chances of being adopted. Sam was rescued from terrible conditions. Now he is a happy little puppy. Sam has found a foster home in Ihlow. He wishes now nothing more than to find his own family. Delboy has already been adopted in Cyprus, but unfortunately he was brought back to the shelter because his family want to emigrate to Italy. We are pleased, that Delboy has found his forever home in Flensburg. We wish all families a lot of fun with their new family member. Thank you to Zypernhunde, for taking care of our dogs. Related...
Read MoreWe also have YAT´s (young animal trainer) in our trainer team. This is CyDRA’s Young Animal Trainers Group. We set this up to encourage kids and dogs working together as past experience has taught me that they are a great combination. There are three members at the moment and as they are only 11 years old that is enough to start with. They are Natalia, Sandra and Abigail. They are all friends and all very sensible children. This is good for us because of the socialisation aspect and good for them as they learn to clicker train and also to look at health, diet and general welfare. They are given a project – they all have a journal to complete. In their journals they can write about anything they do with animals. They can inset photos or drawings they have done themselves. It´s their journal they can plan it any way they like. You can see, even a young person can lead a dog and train. Our little helpers make this really great. Related...

Read MoreDate of Birth: July 2012 High to shoulder: 46 cm Vaccinated: yes Neutered: no Homed: February 2014 Freeway was found in Limassol. His finder took him home. Before he was found he probably had a home, because he runs very well on a leash, understands commands on greek and quickly learned the english commands. He is very lovely and is probably a nearly pure-bred Labrador. He was emaciated when he was found, but has now a good weight. The vet check revealed that he is healthy. Unfortunately, he doesn´t like cats. Who wants to give Freeway a secure future and adopt him? Please contact us if you fell in love with him. Related...
Read MoreOn the 22nd of February the first donation container of 2014 arrived from Germany. This time it was a 40′ft container with 21 pallets packed with food, blankets, towels, dog toys and treats, transport boxes etc. These donation containers get packed and arranged by our sister organization Zypernhunde e.V. in Germany. Many members, volunteers, friends of Zypernhunde e.V. are running non stop all over Germany, to find and collect all these wonderful donations for our Cyprus dogs. The content of the donation container gets shared between CYDRA’s partner organizations. These donations are very important for all of us and are big help to keep our partner organisations operational. Everything item that is sent is an item that doesn´t need to be bought and saves a lot of money for our rescue partners. We can only always repeat how thankful we are to our friends in Germany. And we know what hard work they are putting into finding and collecting all these donations for our dogs. Thanks to all! We are very greatful. Related...
