Report Survivors Party 30th August 2014

Energetic fundraiser, Lesley Hey, organised yet another great party to raise funds for Cyprus Dogs Rehoming Association (CyDRA). It was held on Saturday 30st August at the UKLF Club and was attended by club members, friends of CyDRA, and CyDRA members and their families and friends. It was a small function for those of us who braved the Cyprus summer heat – hence the title: Survivors’ Party. Judging by the smiles we can safely say we all survived very well! The evening was made special as it was also Lesley’s birthday and, generous as ever, she asked people to donate to CyDRA rather than give her presents. With the additional funds raised through very good raffle, she raised over Euro 300 which she presented to the 2nd Chaiman of CyDRA. A great evening was had by all. The vocalist, the very entertaining Angela Allery, provided first class entertainment by singing a wide variety of past and present hit songs – and showed a great degree of stamina in the heat of the evening. Flight 5th September 2014 from Paphos to Hamburg/Germany

On Friday 5th September 2014 ten more dogs fly out from Cyprus and lands in Hamburg/Germany. Aboard will be: Line, Grace, Brad, Chilly, Cristo, Snooze, Lucil, Max, Angel and Jake. Only Snooze and Angel are already homed in Germany, the others fly off to their foster homes. We wish them a smooth flight and landing and a wonderful new life. Happy End of Colin

Colin is living for almost four years in Germany. He has moved at the age of 9 weeks in November 2010 to his family. For the family was the arrival at the Hamburg Airport very emotional. Colin is doing very well in Germany. He has now also been a 1.5 years old girlfriend. She is called Lotte and is a French Bulldog. The two love each other and get along very well. For the family it was very difficult to find a second dog for Colin because Colin does not get along with all dogs. He must have had bad experience in Cyprus. But that’s over now and all is well. Happy End of Arnold

The small Arnold had birthday and he is now 3 years old. His mommy wishes him all the best. She describes him as a little heartbeat on four paws! His mom writes: today you are already three years old. To me it seems like it was only yesterday that I held you for the first time as a mini worm in my arms. The time with you flies by and you’re everything to me, my heart dog. I do not want to miss one second with you and I pray fervently that follow many many more years.
